# About Salud Medica

Salud Medica has been delivering clinical laboratory results in Puerto Rico since 2009. This site, labspr.com, is the front door to our portals.

## What we do

Salud Medica Inc. builds and operates the platform that clinical laboratories in Puerto Rico use to deliver results and communicate with their patients. When a laboratory processes an order, we are the path by which that result reaches the patient and the doctor who ordered it.

Around that delivery sits a set of operational tools: automated patient messaging over SMS, WhatsApp, email, and voice; scheduling for at-home phlebotomy visits; per-order satisfaction surveys; and a metrics dashboard for laboratory management.

## Who we serve

- Patients who need to view, download, or share their lab results.
- Healthcare providers reviewing results for the patients in their practice.
- Clinical laboratories that want to deliver results and reach their patients without building the software themselves.

Each group enters through a different portal, with its own authentication and a view suited to its role. One email address can hold access to more than one portal; in that case each is signed into separately.

- Founded in 2009. More than 15 years of continuous operation in Puerto Rico.
- More than 1 million patients served.
- More than 3.5 million orders processed.

We work in Spanish and English, with Spanish as the default, because it is the language of most of the people we serve.

## How we work with laboratories

We integrate with the laboratory information system (LIS) a laboratory already runs, rather than asking it to replace one. Interoperability is handled over HL7, and health information is handled in line with HIPAA.

A laboratory can run the platform under its own domain and its own branding. To the patient, the experience is their laboratory’s; underneath, the infrastructure is the same.
